Marissa Almquist | Digital Creator & Mama of Four
Q: Did you always know you wanted to be a mother?
A: Yes. Not as soon as I did, but my husband and I both came from big families and both agreed on having our own big family one day.
Q: What’s a typical day look like for you and your family?
A: Everyday is different but my favorite days are the days I work from home. We enjoy a slow morning together before making a big breakfast.
The younger kids still nap during the day, so we try to keep the older ones busy. The older kids normally love to do crafts, legos, art, or exploring.
We love ending the day with an evening walk as a family.
Q: How has motherhood changed your creativity?
A: I would say it's inspired me more than ever. It's made me realize what I am truly passionate about in life and motherhood is a huge part of that for me.
Q: Most rewarding part of motherhood?
A: Watching my little babies grow up to become their own independent, unique little person.
Q: Most challenging part of motherhood?
A: Motherhood can be challenging in a lot of ways. As of recently I am challenging myself to be more present with my kids and enjoy my time with them. Of course we all strive for routine, but I want to remember to slow down and live in the moment with them.
Q: I love your GRWM videos. What’s your advice on carving out time for yourself and finding a balance with parenting?
A: Thank you so much, you're so sweet. Motherhood can be so busy, I really prioritize making time for myself at some point of the day, even if it's just an hour to myself to get ready for the day or be creative with makeup.
One thing I try to remember is I am a better mom to my kids when I take care of myself.
Q: Something you wish you heard more of as a child?
A: That I can do hard things.
